Lash Marash is a multi-instrumentalist born in London 1976. In his teens he was drawn to London’s vibrant techno trance scene & would always end up drumming in the backrooms of clubs such as Megatripolis, Whirl-y-Gig, Return to the Source & Escape from Samsara. Lash then spent years travelling the world, spending time in the hippie hangout areas such as Ibiza, Goa & Koh Phangan.

His love of percussion led him to volunteer as a drummer in the 2012 London Olympic opening & closing ceremonies.

In the early 21st Century, he discovered a new instrument, developed in Switzerland, called the Hang, now commonly known as the Handpan. “I knew when I first heard this incredible instrument that I had to have one, the ethereal sound, both percussive & melodic in equal measures, just called out to me.”, says Lash.

The instrument was very rare & extremely difficult to acquire. Lash managed to find a good maker in California who made his first handpan & that was the beginning of his journey with this magical steel instrument.
